Comedy Central's 'Another Period' Promos Parody Social Media
Vasiliki Marapas — June 5, 2015 — Pop Culture
Created by Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome for Comedy Central, 'Another Period' is a satirical sitcom that takes place at the turn of the 20th century.
The Kardashians might rule our televisions (and the media, and perhaps, the world), but they were not the first obscenely rich family to be famous for being famous. At least, not according to this hilarious show, which follows the wealthy and debauched Bellacourt family and the poor, unfortunate souls who serve them.
A series of in-house promo spots have been released to ramp up excitement for the show, and they feature the Bellacourts (Leggero and Lindhome) being the first to take a selfie, send a tweet and swipe left. Comedy Central's SVP of brand creative Lu Chekowsky explains, "We wondered what these hilariously terrible people of another time would do with modern technology, and wanted to play with all the ingredients of the show that make it great—the gilded age, the reality show excess and the hip-hop sensibility."
