These 2014 internet trends range from intentionally unattractive selfies to celebrity makeup transformations that will have one looking like their favorite star in mere minutes.
Though humorous photography and pop culture cosmetic tutorials were some of the most popular 2014 internet trends, the year wasn't short on thought-provoking material either.
While viral cat-calling PSAs addressed serious issues like harassment of the urban woman, feminist Instagram movements paired the #feministsareugly hashtag with photographs of beautiful and empowered women.
In addition to humor, activism and empowerment, the internet trends of the year also included personified animal photography that focused on the season's Normcore fashion fad along with imaginary crossbreed blogs that blended unlikely creatures together.
