MOM's Organic Market is now launching a collection of products that are made with alternative protein from insects. The assortment of products includes Bolognese sauce made with crickets or mealworms, cricket cookies, snack bars and chips, as well as whole mealworms and crickets that are flavored and available in bulk. In comparison to animal proteins, insect proteins release fewer greenhouse gases than livestock and require less space and resources to raise.
MOM's VP of Produce & Grocery Lisa de Lima and VP of Wellness Steve Geest were inspired to create this collection of insect protein products after a trip to Mexico's La Merced Market.
To introduce these new products to consumers, MOM's is launching a Sustainable Protein tasting in the coming week.
