From In-Game Beauty Films to Congresswoman-Led Tutorials
Riley von Niessen — October 24, 2020 — Fashion
The October 2020 cosmetics highlight the latest innovations in makeup, skincare, grooming, and beauty industry advertising.
As COVID-19 has led to the demise of in-store product testing, virtual tools like the smart camera from Perfect Corp. enables consumers to get a feel for how a certain product would look on them without actually having to try a sample on in stores. The virtual makeup try-on features can be activated with voice and gesture controls—and are even able to detect the user's mask and provide product samples over top of it.
Also in-line with the pandemic's safety restrictions is a new beauty editorial from Allure magazine that features singer Selena Gomez. Using the products from her own beauty line, Gomez created her own look for the shoot with the remote guidance of makeup artist Hung Vanngo.
