From Minimalist Oscar Posters to Minimalist Video Game Art

Minimalist pop culture art is like a puzzle. You scan all the disparate parts of the image and try to form a portrait you recognize.
Minimalist art can be a difficult artform to enjoy, mainly because the viewer has a hard time discerning what in fact the artist is trying to illustrate. The beauty then of minimalist pop culture art is that, since the viewer is already intimately familiar with the subject matter, they are then more likely to discern the artist's intent.
Minimalist visual art seeks to eliminate all the unnecessary details of the subject and strip it down to its bare essentials. I would argue that these minimalist pop culture art pieces have indeed eliminated excess detail and all that remains is the true essence of these pop culture icons.
