Knitted and Crocheted Art, From Dementia Knitwear to Crocheted Bird
Ryan Hinkson — July 11, 2010 — Art & Design
Although I don't have the patience to knit or crochet anything, I do have to respect those who do. This cluster of knitted and crocheted creations is really impressive. Whether it's creating a good old-fashioned sweater or something more artistic like knitted wigs, roller skates or bodysuits, there are still tons of people doing some gnarly needlework.
Implications - This collection of knitted creations is refreshing evidence that the marketplace has not forgotten the appeal of the homespun aesthetic. In fact, it shows that consumers are hungrier than ever for products that reinvent and take needlework to new frontiers in new and exciting ways. Grandmothers everywhere can definitely rejoice at this new rebirth.
