From Glitch Art Exhibitions to Automated Human Photography
Joey Haar — July 1, 2018 — Art & Design
The age-old argument of whether art mimics life or vice versa can't ever be definitely answered or solved, and the June 2018 art and design trends show that if anything the debate is sure to get more intense if anything. Technology is coming to dominate more and more of daily life while science fiction themes are simultaneously taking over the worlds of art and design, leaving the question of art's relation to life wide open.
Glitch art is a great example of how art and technology play off of one another. In the past, glitches in games and mediated technology (i.e. technology with screens) were an annoyance, but artists have co-opted those images and even created their own pieces that reflect those glitches.
