Brick-and-mortar retailers typically don't have a lot of trouble establishing an online presence, but online-first brands can face challenges when it comes to building a brick-and-mortar footprint. These innovative digitally native retail concepts explore some of the ways these brands—and retailers—are supporting growth and expansion. Entire retail concepts like BrandBox and Anchor Shops were specifically created to bolster online-first brands and make the creation of offline shops affordable.
While some brick-and-mortar retailers are hoping to entice shoppers by introducing curated shop-in-shop experiences that share products from up-and-coming online brands, other D2C brands are opening their own pop-ups and permanent stores.
