From Post-Apocalypse Menswear to TV-Smashing Pictorials
Marissa Brassfield — July 24, 2010 — Fashion
With 2012 on the horizon, we've seen a wide array of apocalyptic fashion shoots that aim to make sense of our preoccupation with the unknown. War, nuclear weaponry and ancient Mayan calendars collide for a macabre, yet fascinating inspiration. From post-apocalypse menswear to eerie urbanscapes, these apocalyptic fashion shoots prove that if the End of Days are inevitable, they'd better be fashionable.
Implications - With 2012 on its way, apocalyptic themes are being explored by artists and designers alike. Imagery of the end of days provides a frightful, but unique look into the future much like dystopian novels have inspired many concepts. Sticking with the grim nature of apocalyptic themes will build on the popular horror/macabre themes that have been popular for consumers willing to pay money for a dose of terror.
