French plant-based meat innovator HappyVore launched an inventive ham alternative made with textured pea protein and bean protein concentrate.
These plant-based slices are free from major allergens and provide 20 grams of protein per 100 grams, leading it to receive a Nutriscore of A. What's more, this alternative protein source powered by plant-based ingredients is said to generate four times fewer emissions than conventional, animal-derived ham. "We wanted to get out of the confrontation with meat by going back to the roots of why we launched HappyVore: to help the French switch to a more plant-based diet, while having fun," said CEO and co-founder Guillaume Dubois at the time.
Already, HappyVore's freshly launched ham alternative is winning over the public—it's been voted Saveur de l’Année (Taste of the Year) 2025 by consumers.
