
C-Label from V-Label is a Certification for Cultivated Foods

C-Label from V-Label has been announced as a new certification for cultivated food products from the vegan and vegetarian trademarks certification brand to provide producers with a globalized standard. The label certification requires a variety of conditions to be met before it can be applied including the use of animal-free cell growth media, antibiotics must not be used, animals must not be killed or stressed and more. The various requirements for the certification has been announced in tandem with the Meatly pet food startup that has received the C-Label certification for cultivated chicken.
Founder Renato Pichler spoke on the C-Label from V-Label certification saying, "Cultivated meat offers a huge potential to eliminate inhumane farming practices and greatly lower the negative impact of farming livestock on our environment. Our certification for cell-based meat is a testament to our dedication to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in sustainable food production.
