Cantilevered Corporate Buildings

The 'Enjoy Concrete' Building Features a Cantilevered Boardroom

Enjoy Concrete is a Belgian manufacturing and installation company that produces architectural prefabricated concrete elements. For the company's new headquarters in Veurne, its goal was to create an architecturally interesting building that shows off its own product. Govaert & Vanhoutte Architects, the studio behind the project, delivered just that.

The most striking aspect of the building is the massively cantilevered volume that extends from one of the corners. The cantilevered portion of that volume contains the company's boardroom, giving those meeting in it a sense of floating four floors above the ground. The cantilevered room also gives an excellent view of the nearby green canal.

The facade of Enjoy Concrete's headquarters is built from the company's own product, and it shows off a naturalistic pattern that looks like the shadows of tree trunks.
