Texas-based firm Moontower Design Build has unveiled the Cross Cabin structure nestled in Austin. It is packed with clever cross-laminated timber builds with cork-clad support at the facade. The purpose of the design is to create a more eco-friendly build using plant-based materials. The ADU is comprised of 93 square meters within a 743-square meter soling yard.
The home creates captivating views of the horizon that is seen from the tree canopy. The home was completed last year and the holistic build made sure to meet the standards of the AIA Architecture and Design Materials Pledge. It is made with inspiration from Michael Pollan's book, Food Rules as the team designed the home with plant-based materials that weren't too heavily processed.
