'ARCHITALE' Features Ideal Architecture for Fairy Tale Heroes

Though it might not be the focus of narratives, architecture plays an important role in many fairy tales, and ARCHITALE is an illustration project that imagines the ideal architecture for the protagonists of various stories. The project is the work of Federico Babina, an Italian illustrator.

There are seventeen different stories covered in the ARCHITALE series. Some of the designs reference memorable graphic elements of the stories, such as Pinocchio's house having a long, nose-like extension or the Aladdin house being shaped like the Genie's lamp. Other structures are designed such that they would have a real narrative impact. For instance, the houses for the Three Little Pigs story are all placed on stilts, with the implication being that the wolf won't be able to blow any of them down from his vantage on the ground.
