Precht Creates Four Treehouses for the Steirereck Am Pogusch
Four tubular treehouses poke out in an Austrian woodland, creating a sense of wonder and curiosity with their interesting and future-forward design. These structures were created by the architecture studio Precht for a restaurant in the rural village of Pogusch, called the Steirereck am Pogusch.
The tubular treehouses, which Dezeen has described as "cartoonish," offer accommodation to guests and staff of the business. Their location is, obviously, quite unique and secluded. Precht has officially called the four tubular treehouses the 'Bert' dwellings and these are the first four iterations of the "modular structure."
Precht makes its four tubular treehouses out of cross-laminated timber (CLT) and the structures are prefabricated, offering some flexibility. The Bert structure evolved as a concept from "an ambition to create a structure with a minimal environmental impact."
