Atelier Fasea envisioned a small concept cabin that folds open during the summer months. According to the architect, "the principle of the folding house is to allow users to expand their houses according to the season, the weather, and the context in which it is located." The cabin is thus designed for maximum adaptability.
The cabin is placed on a trailer to allow users to tow it from one location to the next. The house is designed to be self-sufficient during the winter due to wood stoves, solar panels, a rainwater collection system, and two gas bottles if the sunlight doesn't provide enough energy to power the home. In the warmer months, the cabin folds open to double in size for better airflow.
