Lauren Coleman’s Tiny House Takes Cues from Hide-and-Seek
Kalin Ned — August 9, 2022 — Art & Design
An elegantly designed playful tiny house was recognized with the Australian Interior Decoration Graduate of the Year at the Design Institute of Australia. The forward-thinking project was spotlighted in one of Dezeen's School Shows, which spotlights emerging talent.
Simply dubbed 'The Tiny House,' the concept is envisioned by Lauren Coleman who "playfully defies expectations." Coleman effortlessly combined notions of sophisticated design and cheeriness. While the shapes, color palette, and furnishings (which were sourced from Australian furniture stores like Jardan and Mubu) evoke a modern feel, at the heart of this design is the children's game of hide-and-seek. Through the playful tiny house, Lauren Coleman wanted to bring about "a sense of curiosity and playfulness [...] that can catch somebody by surprise."
