The House in Front of a School is a brand new contemporary Japanese home, with a beautiful central courtyard. Situated in Nara, Japan, the structure was designed by the architectural studio KKAA YTAA.
The residence is split into two volumes and a bridge that passes through the courtyard connects them. This has allowed the architects to create what they call "a blank space." The contemporary Japanese home is located in a densely populated neighborhood. KKAA YTAA worked on a concept that would support a compact life, as well as a design that would bring the client closer to nature. The silhouette of the building was intended to support the owner's work-from-home lifestyle while giving ample access to the outdoors.
