Barcelona-based Vita Spirits is looking to tap into the low-sugar market with the release of its new vodka. Designed to be mixed with water, Vita Spirits vodka is both gluten-free and sugar-free and is intended to appeal to a more health-conscious drinker. The brand has insisted that vodka is distilled with flavor in mind and is made to retain this flavor when mixed with water. This innovative liquor is the brainchild of friends Victor Ruiz Lafita and Fadrique Balmaseda. The duo decided to create this vodka after finding the mix of vodka and soda water to be unpleasant and deciding to capitalize on the idea of flavorful liquor made to be mixed without sugar.

The vodka made by Vita Spirits is advertised as a citric spirit and is distilled with natural lemon peel extract. The formula for the final product took 18 months to perfect and is comprised of Italian rye grain and lemon peel extract made from a local distillery in Barcelona. The water used in the production has an exceptionally low mineral content in an attempt to keep an unaltered and all natural citrus flavor. Ultimately, this product is a flavorful alternative to traditional vodkas as it is designed for health-minded individuals. That all natural flavor, lack of sugar and absence of gluten comes together in this health-focused libation.
