Grace Mahas — February 27, 2020 — Business
House rental platform Airbnb has always discouraged unauthorized parties, however, the brand is helping hosts discourage these events with deep discounts on 3 top-rated 3rd-party products including Minut, NoiseAware, and Roomonitor. These indoor noise sensor devices, according to Airbnb, do not record sound but simply measure the volume to detereme if there is "property misuse."
In addition to offering discounted surveillance systems, Airbnb also announced an improved internal party-policing system that will flag any high-risk reservations. The company also created a "party house" response team and has increased the fees for violators. The rental platform maintains that safety is it's number one priority to ensure hosts spaces are protected and their relationships with neighbors are preserved.
