TikTok is launching a monetizable streaming service for creators, currently titled TikTok Live Stream. This is a separate service from the TikTok Live functionality that currently exists, as they seek to serve different markets. TikTok Live is intended for content such as podcasts, question and answer sessions, or simple fan interaction. The TikTok Live Stream service will be intended for more in-depth content such as gaming, art creation, and many more.
The TikTok Live Stream service will have a donation system and a subscription system similar to Twitch, which is the live streaming service owned by Amazon. However, on TikTok's version, creators will receive 50% of the revenue from subscriptions and 100% from donations, whereas Twitch currently offers the creators 70% of the revenue from subscriptions.
