The Strange City at the Grand Palais in Paris is a work done by Ilya and Emilia Kabako, two artists from Russia. The "immersive neighborhood constructed within the glass vaulted monument aims to question the human condition and ‘the great visions of progress, science, and human upliftment that could have led to the brink of disaster,’" as stated by Kabakov on DesignBoom.
The installation is like a house within a house, with the city-like design placed within the large glass dome at the Grand Palais. People visiting the installation are able to walk inside this glass area, and then mingle in between the structures the artists have set up, with some sections open for guests to also go inside and explore.
