Michael Hemsworth — April 17, 2021 — Eco
Circle K has announced its latest step in its sustainability commitment as it prepares to launch 100% sustainable coffee across all of its locations. The announcement comes ahead of Earth Day (April 22) when the coffee will be released and will be promoted with a discount of up to 40% off of reusable mugs for patrons to pick up. The brand's new coffee program is built around three pillars including farm productivity, environmental practices and social development.
Global Chief Marketing Officer of Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., parent company of Circle K Kevin Lewis spoke further on the sustainable coffee announcement saying, "We continue to look for ways to deliver high-quality coffee while reducing our impact on the environment. In the U.S., over the past year, we've reduced case sizes and extended product shelf life, which will minimize the amount of coffee wasted. These steps, combined with the installation of bean-to-cup coffee machines across the U.S., have delivered a 30-percent reduction in total pounds of coffee wasted annually."
