Snapchat Will Now Use Mid-Roll Ads to Pay its Creators More

Snapchat has announced a new initiative that will focus on paying more money to Snapchat creators. Since 2020, Snapchat has been attempting to increase its monetization efforts through 'Spotlight,' its vertical video feed feature, and through advertisements in the 'Discover' feed, which then translated into a form of payment for verified creators on the platform.
Now, Snapchat has released a feature that utilizes mid-roll ads on 'Snapchat Stories,' which are small, timed personal videos that are uploaded directly by creators. Advertisements will now be shown in between the viewing of creators' stories, and the associated creator will be paid a certain amount of money based on the view count of these advertisements. This increases the incentive to remain a Snapchat content creator as the brand now faces competition with TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
