In honor of Black History Month, Ricky Moore, the Owner and Chef behind Saltbox Seafood Joint, is introducing several special new dishes.
For the second year, Chef Moore has created a special Black History Month that aims to tell a story through the use of rich ingredients and region-specific flavors. This year's menu specifically touches on the global influence of the Atlantic Slave Trade. As Chef Moore explains, "These dishes speak to the global influence African food has had on our food culture in the Americas, not just the United States. I've chosen to feature dishes that I’ve eaten in the regions where they originated and experienced them prepared by someone’s native hands (and that I’ve also made myself). And I’ve chosen seafood dishes specifically."
A new dish will be introduced each Wednesday in February, and offerings will range from Fried Catfish & Spaghetti to Senegalese Fish Yassa.
