With a renovation design by Synthesis Design + Architecture, the Pushkinsky Cinema has been transformed into a completely new venue that is both dramatic yet elegant.
An interesting open air lattice, inspired by a "Russian veil," covers the exterior of the Pushkinsky Cinema. This viewl is made of thermo-formed paneled sheets of DuPont Corian; the panels, according to Evolo, work to gently transform the pattern of the exterior into a "varied matrix of warped hexagon modules."
Further, these interesting hexagonal modules create a "moire effect" -- as you move through the building, you see the hexagonal shapes turning from opaque to transparent and back.
