Scott Listfield Produces a Collection of Eerie Artworks
Kalin Ned — May 23, 2018 — Art & Design
Scott Listfield -- a visual artist from Massachusetts -- debuts a post-apocalyptic painting collection in an exhibit at San Francisco's Spoke Art Gallery. The artwork is characterized by a certain dystopian ambiance that forecasts a relationship between man and technology.
The 'ALGORITHM' exhibit tells a sort of a story with a protagonist, embodied in an astronaut suit. The scene is set in the doom-laden Bay Area, featuring little tech details like "autonomous cars in ruin, and [surveillance] drones." The spaceman in the post-apocalyptic paintings is represented as just a spectator, perhaps unable to react or fix the deteriorating environment. For the ALGORITHM exhibit, Scott Listfield mainly addressed the ever-growing relationship between man and technology and what that could entail in the future.
