While Forever 21 has been carrying activewear collections since 2010, in order to to kick off 2016 in style, it newly launched a line of plus-size activewear. The collection comes at a time where consumers expect brands to support body positivism, as well as at the beginning of a new year, where many people are looking to overhaul their lifestyle choices.
The plus-size activewear line includes sizes from XL to 3X for bras, pullover shirts, leggings and jackets. These garments are organized into low, medium and high-performance gear, depending on what a consumer wants to get out of their workout. Design details in the 28-piece collection includes mesh panels, stretch materials, cutouts and pockets for the storage of small valuables.
Many of the fitness garments blur the lines between activewear and athleisure, especially ones with playful sayings like: "No Days Off."
