In the hopes of appealing to a younger group of consumers, the Playboy Rabbitars have been created as digital assets for buying, collecting and trading. The NFT (non-fungible token) avatars present new looks for the iconic Playboy bunny based on Rabbitars that represent a "rare species of rabbit."
Thanks to the help of WENEW, an art and blockchain technology firm, Playboy generated 11,953 one-of-a-kind Rabbitars for NFT collectors. There are over 175 possible traits, ranging from different kinds of fur and ears to style accessories and different occupations. To celebrate its history, Playboy included plenty of nods to its brand, inspired by milestone moments.
Rabbitars are priced at 0.1953 Ethereum ($806 USD) each and the 3D avatars are launching in three phases throughout October.
