AL_A Draws Inspiration from Music for This Building Design
Kalin Ned — April 21, 2022 — Art & Design
A contemporary, engaging, and stylish panoramic philharmonic concert hall is set to occupy a site in Belgrade, Serbia. Designed by British architecture studio AL_A, which is under the direction of architect Amanda Levete, this cultural building development is said to be the "first venue of its kind in the Balkans."
AL_A focused on "mirroring the movement of music" through design. The panoramic philharmonic concert hall consists of four light-hued volumes that are arranged to "encircle a central space that will be covered by a draped canopy." The development will be able to house massive performances that could seat up to 1,600 guests. In addition to this sizable hall, which also includes the podium stage (of course), there will also be a recital hall and a creative hub.
