The CLIF Bar 'Build-a-Bar' Seminar Offers Energy Bar Personalization
In conjunction with the annual Crankworx mountain biking competition in Whistler, British Columbia, nutritional bar brand CLIF Bar put together an activation Basecamp complete with an innovative 'Build-a-Bar' workshop that encouraged attendees to personalize their very own CLIF bars. The experience focused on using featured and local ingredients. The seminar was lead by CLIF Bar's own Nutrition Strategist at CLIF Bar & Company, Tara Dellolacono Thies, with the content providing hands-on education about healthy and nutritional snacks options for both athletes and consumers.
The 'Build-a-Bar' workshop featured a blend of popular CLIF Bar ingredients as well as Whistler-specific options that were in season, such as berries and maple syrup. Guests were educated on healthy carbohydrates, proteins, antioxidants and natural sugars that are ideal for sustaining the body in snacks eaten between meals. Each individual was able to select five ingredients for their own personalized bar and name the snack to their liking.
The ability to personalize energy bars allowed attendees ranging from professional mountain bikers, media and activity enthusiasts to tailor the snack to suit their lifestyles and fuel necessities.
