Chinese design studio Mix Architecture updates the Nanjing Combat Machinery Factory located in Nanjing, China, and turns the once factory into a new office and public park. The development took over the factory first built in the 50s and was later abandoned by its occupants.
The new update is defined by brick buildings that take the existing factory structures into consideration by planting outdoor spaces, and more. Co-founder of the studio Ziye Wu speaks about the project to Dezeen, noting that "The site is the marginal zone between the city and nature, and is not known by people in the city. We hope to regain its impression in this city and try to balance the relationship between the city, nature, and historical relics as much as possible."
