Architecture firm Urbanus has taken on the renovation project to create the Nantou Hybrid Building development. The team takes five buildings in Shenzhen, China, and unifies them by adding colorful accents and circulation throughout the clusters, which were first built in the 1980s and 2000s. The studio notes that it took on the project by adopting the idea of 'urban coexistence' by preserving the contrasting materials, structures, and more.

The Nantou Hybrid Building stands as a testament to the evolving history of Shenzhen's urban villages.
