UK architecture studio Foster + Partners unveils a look at the redesign plans for the Midtown Bus Terminal renovation in Manhattan. The main goal is to unify the different transport hubs under one building and this complex brings the bus and subway services in a connected formal. The station was originally constructed in the 50s and has gone through a series of renovations since.
Head of studio at Foster + Partners, Nigel Dancey states, "This project will revolutionize the way people experience the city of New York. Foster + Partners' new terminal design delivered to the port authority makes public transportation more inviting and accessible, with passenger-centric design, intuitive wayfinding and permeable new public spaces." The team at the studio also notes that the redesign worked to have net-zero emissions.
