In this ad for the Mercedes-Benz GLA, it seems that Mario has finally gotten with the times and learned that there are faster ways to get around than relying on your own feet, or hoping a power-up mushroom will come your way.
In the first part of the video, the side-scrolling platformer game is presented in all of its 8-bit glory, with Mario as the driver of a Mercedes-Benz GLA. Expertly, he stomps Goombas, smashes bricks and climbs up stairs to the castle. After arriving to his destination, the video game recreation flips to a real life version of Mario and the car, which both look pretty fearsome. However, once the iconic video game character leaves the safety of the Mercedes, it's game over for Mario.
