For April Fool's Day this year, McDonald's set up the 'McDrive Surprise' prank, which was incredibly simple, but effective at catching people off guard.
After ordering a meal at a McDonald's drive-thru, people then proceeded to go and pick up their orders, only to have their meals handed to them by the most bizarre characters, including a man in a spacesuit, a Marie Antoinette-like woman singing opera and a rapper and his backup dancers. Most of these are completely silly and smile-inducing, although there's one scary horror movie character and a kissing couple thrown in there for good dose of awkwardness.
Although the premise is pretty straightforward, it's an excellent way for the fast food giant to reiterate how much fun can be had at its restaurant, even for something as quick as a drive-by meal pick up.
