Alzheimer's Research UK teamed up with Fisher Productions to launch a virtual reality pop-up that simulates the experience of living with dementia.
The experience supports the charity's ongoing 'Walk Through Dementia' campaign by highlighting some of the symptoms of dementia that are not well-known to the public. At the pop-up station, members of the public are able to engage in three different simulations set in the supermarket, the home and on the road. Each VR simulation exposes people to the frustration of being poorly coordinated, having trouble reading, feeling disoriented, as well as other symptoms.
As well as being able to access this VR content at the three-day setup at St Pancras station in London, people are also able to access the Walk Through Dementia experience through the Android Google Cardboard app.
