The largest green wall in North America can be found in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, at the Guildford Town Centre. Gracing the exterior of an overpass, it brings a refreshing sight to drivers on their daily commute. Dubbed ‘Mountains & Trees, Waves & Pebbles,' the largest green wall is a masterful feat of organic swirls and rich colors.
Created by Green Over Grey, the largest green wall is also known for being the only structure of its kind built directly over a roadway. As for its visual inspiration, Chief designer Mike Weinmaster says, "I wanted to gather inspiration from the natural beauty that one would experience while crossing our province [British Columbia (BC) in Western Canada]. Starting with the mountains; I am a huge fan of still photography and mountains provide the organic and free-flowing patterns which we’ve found resonate best with people when viewing our planted work."
