Beached Mermaid Editorials

This rebellious fantasy series for W Magazine features model Kristen McMenamy dressed up like an edgy mermaid. The name of this mythical editorial is ‘Far Far From Land’, which makes sense because this rocker mermaid manages to stay submerged in water in almost every shot.

Photographer Tim Walker is behind this creative series. Many of his fashion photography collections are infused with fairy tale elements that make them all the more interesting.

This series seems to be inspired by ‘The Little Mermaid’, only with a punkish edge. Kristen McMenamy splashes around in old tanks and bathtubs, looking for her soulmate. At the end of the series, she even seems to magically sprout legs, much like the Disney character.
