For some, the typical scenic shot of a vehicle winding along a mountain's curves is overdone -- surely they will appreciate the novelty of the Kia 'Rear View Camera Race' ad.
Rear view mirrors are relatively unpopular in Latin America, so Kia came up with a way to make this feature more exciting. This commercial shows a slew of race cars lined up at the start line but with one minor discrepancy in detail; they were facing backwards! The video continues as the cars whip around the track, in backwards fashion, using only their rear view cams to guide them.
This absurd concept was effective in providing that 'wow' factor, as the end of the ad denotes, over 1000 rearview cameras ordered after the race! And perhaps just as important, the ad reminds viewers not to try the stunt at home.
