The Visual Body Mass Index Calculator is a free, online tool that enables you to visually track your body fat. Yikes! It is one thing to enter a bunch of numbers or go through the process of squinting to find BMI’s, but quite another to literally see what it looks like before the eyes; and especially if you lean towards plump end.
All you do is choose your preferred version of measurement, standard or metric, and then drag the mouse over the image, the number on the chest represents the BMI.
I tried four samples using two different heights. One and two represent a person who is 5’6”; the first weighs 216 pounds and is considered obese with a BMI of 35, and the second 119 pounds with a healthy and normal BMI of 19. Samples three and four represent a person who is 5’12”; the first is obese at 222 pounds, and the second figure shows up as slim weighing in at 125.
Although I really appreciate this cool new BMI toy, it should be noted that muscles, sex, age, and bone size are not taken into account so the figures may not be accurate in some cases.
