From Dancing Robot Pets to Robot Animal Therapy

It's safe to say that these robotic animal companions represent the natural evolution of the pet. While dogs and cats themselves may never morph into robots through evolution, technology may render living and breathing four-legged friends useless in the years to come.
These robotic animal companions showcase both the march of technology and the world's fascination with domesticated animals. While robotic dogs may not knock off real dogs for a few years, it's still awesome to see how far they've advanced. The general rule of thumb is, the more advanced the design, the more it will cost consumers. This keeps the best robot pets from having a mass market appeal. Hopefully technology and cost-effectiveness will intersect sometime soon to provide pets for people with allergies and overbearing landlords.
