Instagram is Testing Adding Songs to Profiles Just Like MySpace
Instagram is working on a new feature that allows users to add a song to their profile. Initially teased by Alessandro Paluzzi on Twitter, the feature is expected to appear at the bottom of your Instagram bio underneath the links tab. There, users can add a song of their choice to their profile in order to express their personal taste. In the screenshots, Paluzzi had added Rick Astley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ to his profile.
This feature draws comparisons to the MySpace song feature, which was highly popular in the early 2000s, allowing users to select a song that perfectly encapsulated their personality. Instagram has confirmed that the feature is an “internal prototype” at the moment and is not being tested externally.
