Immertia is exploring the future of avatar-commerce with a prototype that enhances packaging with a holographic person. The holographic person can only be seen when viewing the packaging through the lens of a smartphone camera and the figure appears as if inside the product packaging itself.
After activating the virtual person, consumers can then unlock information that is pertinent to the product. The female holograph has the capability to provide info in English or Spanish, and lead consumers through an interactive AR experience.
Dave Chaffey, Managing Director of Immertia, says "There's a real power to augmented reality, but many people are only just starting to realise it. The demonstration shows a tangible use, that personalizes immersive shopping experiences - it has the potential to change the way we shop."
