The concept for the Hungarian Museum of Architecture and Fotomuseum Budapest by the Laboratory for Explorative Architecture and Design is an innovative approach that won them third place in the open international Liget Budapest architectural design competition.
The city of Budapest is in the midst of planning a total revitalization project for its historic City Park, to which several modern museum buildings will be added. The project is a part of an effort to turn Budapest into one of Europe's modern cultural destinations.
LEAD's third place winning design concept is for two museums, the Hungarian Museum of Architecture and Fotomuseum Budapest, sister buildings taht would act like a gate into the cultural park. The design features bright winged roofs that create a sense of movement and calm.
