Brooklyn design bookstore Head Hi unveils the official Head Hi show where it highlights lamps that are crafted by the talents of 54 designers. This is part of its annual showcase for NYCxDesign, making this its fifth. It takes place at a Soho loft against a wood floor and white walls for a minimal background. Some of the designs are high-tech and others embody a more playful theme, some rest in between.
Head Hi co-founder Alexandra Hodkowski explains that the designers submit their work various years in a row, garnering a lot of interest because it can track the diverse aesthetic and technological advances. "Each year there's a lot of changes in materials or technology and it's really interesting to follow them long term." Co-founder Alvaro Alcocer adds, "The importance of the lamb show is that the main objective is the creation of this object rather than the commercialization."
