Spanish design studio Peris+Toral Arquitectes creates the social housing block dubbed Living in Lime referencing traditional architectural themes of Mallorca. It is located in Son Servera and the design is defined by walls of limestone and sandstone as a nod to the city.
Living in Lime is comprised of 42 housing units by the studio -- all of these are made to have a minimal visual, splitting down to two low-lying blocks that are lined by roads on opposite sides. José Toral, founding partner of the studio spoke to Dezeen about the challenges of the project. He notes, "One of the major challenges was to minimize the scale of the intervention. This was addressed by dividing the building into two sections that conform to the site's topography, creating elevated streets akin to those in the village.
