This gum packaging design project boasts an innovative method that takes inspiration from elegant slices of cake. The Choo Bubble Gum project was designed for the South African market and sees each piece of gum packaged within a triangular cake-like slice that fits within a larger circular packaging. The circular disk opens directly down the middle, making it convenient and easy to travel with.
Designed by Johannesburg-based Brad Smith, the gum packaging design signals that consumers are looking for a product designed to be carried with them in a purse or backpack and that can keep each piece of gum fresh. Flavors envisioned by Smith include a refreshing peppermint crisp, indulgent red velvet and black forest, inspired by the classic cake variety.
