Gold Medal's Newest Products are Free from Artificial Flavors and Colors

Under its Gold Metal brand, General Mills is now introducing clean-label baking products that do away with no artificial flavors and colors from artificial sources.

General Mills has described that the driving force behind the launch of these new clean-label baking products was to help bakeries, restaurants and foodservice companies better "meet consumer demand for baked items made with simpler ingredients."

As it stands, the Gold Medal biscuit, griddle and bread mixes are available with no artificial flavors or colors from artificial sources, and as of June 2018, the brand's muffin, brownie and cake mixes will be available with the same clean-label formulas. To reflect the changes that have been made to the food product formulas, all of the new baking items will be given redesigned packaging.
