Design studio General Assembly has relied on a wide material palette when working on a design project in a New York City apartment. This is nestled in the city's Upper West Side with details defined by the marble and travertine stone joined by wood to make the aesthetics warmer and lighter. One side is meant to be more family-focused and quiet with other areas meant for more social purposes.
The co-founder of General Assembly, Sarah Zames speaks to Dezeen about the project, stating "The floorplan has been completely reimagined. We moved all the walls and most of the plumbing in order to better accommodate the needs and lifestyle of the clients – we felt it was important to organize the spaces based on the way they used the space."
